Types of Pile Foundation

Types of Pile Foundations: Pile foundations are classified as deep foundations used when the upper layer of soil is weak and unable to support the loads from the superstructure. Piles are long, slender columns driven deep into the ground to transfer the load of a structure to stronger soil strata. There are different types of pile foundations, and each of them is used depending on the soil condition, load requirement, and construction purpose.

Types of Pile Foundation:

Pile Foundation can be classified based on:

(1) Material used
(2) Mode of transfer of load
(3) The use
(4) Method of Installation
(5) The Displacement of Soil.
